Why buy from Historic Car Art?

Our collection is curated. This means we only offer artworks from the best, professional artists who meet our strict selection criteria developed over 20 years of working in this arena. This is not a marketplace where no standard is applied for inclusion. This means we are able to provide the highest quality art available.

High Quality - all of our bespoke and stock fine art prints are printed on heavyweight fine art paper or canvas using the giclée print process.

We have full control of the print process in our professional print studio where all original artworks are reproduced and colour balanced resulting in the highest reproduction quality. No grained or fuzzy or mass produced prints here!

Personal service. Each order is packed and shipped from our HQ by our small team. We are always on hand to give advice or assistance.

Our framed prints are each bespoke mounted and framed to order to ensure the highest quality using acid-free conservation or museum grade materials. No off-the-shelf frames are used.

All of our original vintage posters are guaranteed to be original period pieces. No reprints or reproductions here. Rupert, our founder, has been collecting and selling vintage posters for over 20 years and knows how to spot an original from a reprint, however good.

All original artworks are stored and shipped directly from our archive room here at HQ. No third-party shipping. We work for our artists so they can do what they do best - create artwork, and not worry about storing, packing and shipping artwork.

Are your products official?

Yes. All of our original artworks come directly from the studios of artists from around the world, our limited edition prints are published by Historic Car Art for the artists, or are directly sourced from the artist studios. All of our original vintage posters are guaranteed to be original.

What are my framing options?

Tell me more about your original vintage posters.

All of our posters are guaranteed to be original.

The term “original poster” refers to a poster being an original issue, or first printing. i.e. produced at the time of the event for promotional or souvenir purposes. Many aspects are considered in determining the originality of a poster including it's size, the look and feel of the paper, print process, colours, printers marks, fold lines, source and sometimes even smell!

Some of our original posters are linen mounted, others can be linen mounted on request at extra cost. The conservation process of linen mounting involves the poster being mounted onto acid-free paper and then onto linen (similar to artist's canvas). Especially important for fragile posters; this makes the poster easier to handle and display or frame. It also enables any minor restoration of creases, folds, tears or missing pieces. It can only be carried out by professionals.
