Jonathan (Joff) CARTER
64: Donald's Double | Donald Campbell | 1964 Bluebird CN7 & K7 | Original Art
This accomplished mixed media artwork by Joff Carter is a portrait of Donald Campbell in the Bluebird CN7, clutching his lucky mascot Mr Whoppit. This piece celebrates Donald’s famous 1964 achievement, becoming the first (and so far only) person to set both the land and water speed record in the same year. In July, Campbell took the CN7 to Lake Eyre in Australia where he broke the land speed record, clocking 403.10 mph. Then came his seventh water speed record, this time at Western Australia’s Lake Dumbleyung in the Bluebird K7. With a speed of 276.33 mph, Donald clinched his iconic double on the very last day of the year.

Jonathan (Joff) CARTER
Following a degree in Graphic Design and Illustration, Carter established himself as a painter and illustrator before moving into the world of commercial graphic and print production.
However, the lure of white spirit and oil paint proved too hard to resist and in 2010 Carter returned to his roots as a decorative artist, pleased to discover that his time in digital media had completely reinvigorated the way he worked.
This time around he took the opportunity to explore new subjects, most notably classic cars and the history of motor sport; whilst quite a departure from his signature panels and architectural paintings of the time, the mixed media results were still most definately 'Carter’. His motor sport artworks now hang in many collections worldwide.
