WAFT Publishing
WAFT Publishing creates beautifully produced books for people who appreciate cars not simply as machines, but as part of a wider culture of design, travel, engineering and human stories.
Founded by Belgian motoring journalist Bart Lenaerts and photographer Lies De Mol, WAFT combines strong automotive writing with exceptional photography and considered book design. Their work explores the less predictable and often more fascinating edges of the motoring world, looking beyond specifications and performance to the people, places and ideas that give cars their character.
This collection brings together a selection of WAFT motoring books, including the WAFT series, 911 LoveRS | 50 Years of Porsche RS and When Sex Was Safe. Each title has its own subject and personality, but all share the same emphasis on quality writing, photography and presentation.
Books for the Discerning Motoring Enthusiast
WAFT's approach to automotive publishing is deliberately different from a conventional car reference book. Rather than simply cataloguing specifications and production figures, its books combine photography, journalism and design to create an immersive look at automotive culture.
WAFT 4, for example, moves from the Jaguar D-Type to the Cadillac Cyclone concept and Mercedes-Benz C111, bringing together interviews, music and inspiration alongside the cars themselves. It is this breadth of subject matter that gives the WAFT books their distinctive character.
For Porsche enthusiasts, 911 LoveRS | 50 Years of Porsche RS takes a more focused approach, tracing the history of Porsche's RS road cars through photography, technical detail and stories.
The result is a collection of premium car books that belongs as comfortably on a collector's coffee table as it does in a serious motoring library.
WAFT and the World of Car Culture
WAFT's books are particularly appealing to collectors who enjoy discovering the stories behind the cars. Bart Lenaerts brings the perspective of an experienced motoring journalist, while Lies De Mol's photography gives the books their distinctive visual character. Together, they have produced books and features for major automotive and lifestyle publications.
Their work is united by a curiosity about the wider automotive world: the designers, engineers, drivers, owners, journeys and cultural influences that make certain cars memorable.
For collectors of car books, WAFT offers something more considered than a straightforward reference volume. These are substantial, beautifully designed publications intended to be read, explored and returned to.
Discover the wider Car Books collection for further motoring titles covering marques, racing, automotive design and the history of the automobile.
